TextMeshPro Integration

SmartEdge can also be used with TextMeshPro labels.

Given that TextMeshPro uses its own rendering effects, the Render Tab will be disabled and the TextMeshPro materials should be used instead of using the SmartEdge Render effects.


To allow a deeper integration with TextMeshPro, the plugin needs to modify the TMPro code to call the SmartEdge functions at the right times. These process is really simple by using the SmartEdge patcher.

To access the patcher, select from the main menu: Tools \ I2 SmartEdge \ Apply TextMeshPro Patch


A new window will open, showing the needed modifications and its status (whatever it has been already patch, if not found or if patching is available)

To execute the patching, just click "Apply Patch" and the code will be modified, as well as the Scripting Define Symbols in the Player Settings.
