Hello, I'm having an issue with I2 Localization.

We updated to 2017.1, and then to p4 to support 2017 better we also updated our Google Android SDK tools. I'm thinking that the switch from dalvik to art has caused us a problem. Since around this time our game is hard crashing at startup on Android. After checking this out for a day it seems from the logs that i2 when updating is having a problem.

Before the long text logs. Going back to older Android build tools is unfortunately not an option for us. Our primary build system is Unity's cloud build, and there are many automated process that cloud build is handling for our projects multiple publishers.

If some one could help me out finding a work around to prevent the device from crashing, and yet still update that would be fantastic. If not I'm thinking we will need to shut down the clients daily update.

Hi,
I'm sorry for the delay in answering back. I have been trying to reproduce any crash in the Google Live Sync code, but haven't been able.

Said that, in the latest betas I have heavily modified this code to save the downloaded data in an obfuscated string. Part of those changes may have fixed the issue you are experiencing.

Could you try v2.8.0b5 and see if the crash is still there?

Thanks, we did find the problem. It is not directly an I2 problem. What we found is that certain Android 4.x version running on the ART runtime will crash with Emojis. During the download that I2 does there is processing on the string and the app crashes do to emoji. For now we have removed emoji's until we have the time to work in a fix.
