Adding languages with multiple locales

Hi,

Sorry for a probably dumb question here  but do I need to add all the locales under a specific multi-locale language, like English? For example, I want an app to be in English both in the US and in Canada, is it then enough to just add the code "en", or do I need to also (or instead?) add both en-US and en-CA ?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
When I2 Localization runs it selects the start language by using this flow:
inter-illusion.com/assets/I2Localization...InitialLanguage.html

As you see, if the player's device/machine is using the "English (Canada)" variant, but you only added "English" to your Language Source, the plugin will fallback to the "English".

As a rule of thumb, you should only add language variants, if you are planning to have different translations than the default language. (e.g. In Spanish (Mexican) some phrases are said differently than Spanish (Spain)). But most of the time, you will just need to add the base languages ("English", "Spanish", etc) and only add variants if your translators (not google translate) will provide custom translations for that language variant.

Hope that helps,
Frank
